The Telegram channel "MashTekh" published a photo of a retro tram created by Uraltransmash specifically for St. Petersburg. In total, the Northern capital will purchase a batch of 54 such vehicles.
The design of the tram is inspired by the style of the Soviet LM-57 tram of the 1950s, also known as "Stilyaga". The new car resembles "Stilyaga" only on the outside, but inside it is a completely modern model, created on the basis of low-floor vehicles. The three-section wagons of model 71-431 will be called "Dostoevsky", and the two-section wagons 71-421 – "Dovlatov".
The tram in the photo is the first of the vehicles ordered last year. Five trams are currently at various stages of readiness. Uraltransmash will deliver the first series by February 2024, and will then produce and ship four trams monthly.
