Automotive giant AvtoVAZ is preparing to return to Euro-5 environmental standards on its cars, starting from September 1, 2023. This decision was caused by a temporary transition to the Euro-2 standard in 2022 due to sanctions restrictions. The return to Euro-5 became possible as the development of new calibrations and engine control units is now carried out in Russia.
The transition will begin with the LADA Granta model, which will be equipped with engines that meet Euro-5 standards. The new standards will apply to all versions of LADA Granta, including sedan, liftback, Cross, and Drive Active. The choice will be between two engine modifications - with a capacity of 90 hp and 106 hp.
The cars have undergone a full cycle of tests in various temperature conditions, mountain tests, electromagnetic compatibility tests, etc.
The recommended retail price for LADA Granta cars with a 90 hp engine that meets Euro-5 standards starts from 784,900 rubles, and the model with a 106 hp engine will cost from 925,900 rubles. It is worth noting that the basic, localized and affordable Granta configuration remains less than 700 thousand rubles.
There have been no reports yet about updates to the Euro-5 standard on other LADA models.
