Starting September, sending registered letters and parcels via "Post of Russia" will only be possible with a passport or a connected "Simple Electronic Signature"

This rule is stipulated in the order of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation dated April 17, 2023

"Post of Russia" has warned about changes to the rules for sending registered letters, parcels, and packages: from September 1, this will not be possible without a passport.

From September 1, 2023, the conditions for accepting registered items are changing. The sender must provide a document proving their identity to the postal worker.

An alternative to a passport is a service called "Simple Electronic Signature." You can connect it in one of three ways:

  • Come to a "Post of Russia" branch with your passport and fill out a paper form.

The new rule is stipulated in the order of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation dated April 17, 2023. Thus, according to the order, registered postal items will be accepted from September 1, provided that senders or their representatives are identified.
