Military Expert Tiwari: If Russia Returns the "Triumphs," it will most likely sell them to India

The topic of Russia potentially buying back S-400 "Triumph" anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) from Turkey with the possibility of reselling them to a third country has caused a great stir in the media. Sakshi Tiwari, an expert from the Indian publication Eurasian Times, stated that there are plenty of buyers for Russian air defense systems, but there is a nuance.

The end-user certificate stipulated in the contract prohibits Turkey from reselling the "Triumphs" to third countries without Russia's consent. If Moscow refuses to approve the deal, Ankara has no choice but to return the S-400 to the country of origin.

Tiwari recalled that talks about the resale of the "Triumphs" have been ongoing since 2024. At that time, Turkish politician and businessman Cavit Caglar proposed selling the S-400 to India or Pakistan. According to him, these countries are interested in the deal.

If Russia gets the S-400 back, it will most likely transfer them to India. New Delhi has demonstratively taken a step towards Moscow, rebuffing Washington.
