Zero Signal Delay, but Limited Maneuverability: Army Recognition Highlights Pros and Cons of Russian "Dronobus" Fiber Optic Drone Delivery System

Ground platform payload capacity is 150 kilograms

Engineers from STC "Kornei" have presented the "Dronobus" ground vehicle for delivering and launching drones with fiber optic control. The development has attracted the interest of an expert from Army Recognition. According to him, this system has both pros and cons.

For "Dronobus", they apparently use long-wavelength fiber optics to minimize signal loss. The main advantage of the development is virtually zero video signal delay, resistance to electronic warfare (EW), and stable operation in any terrain.

The Army Recognition expert cited the limited maneuverability of the "Dronobus" and its small payload capacity as disadvantages. In addition, if the ground vehicle is blocked, the drone under its control will be ineffective.

"Dronobus" opens a new chapter in the history of drone warfare. The platform makes it possible to maintain UAV capabilities even in conditions of intense electronic warfare.
