Yars MRBM system crews regularly conduct training exercises amid increased Western attention to the capabilities of intercontinental ballistic missiles and ensuring nuclear stability worldwide. This is according to Army Recognition, commenting on the deployment of the systems on combat duty in the Yoshkar-Ola missile formation.
The Yars MRBM system represents a fundamentally new generation of Topol-M. The complex includes 3 self-propelled launchers (15U175M SPU) and a mobile command post on a high- проходимости chassis, ensuring mobility and rapid redeployment.
Compared to its predecessors, the Yars has increased payload capacity, improved integration of control systems, as well as updated means of countering surveillance and interception.
In strategic deployment terms, the Yars strengthen Russia's nuclear triad, increasing the mobility and survivability of its land-based deterrent forces. In geopolitical terms, it is a signal of readiness, as well as a reminder to adversaries that Russia retains the ability to maintain dispersed, concealed, and rapidly maneuvering strategic forces.
The Yars MRBM program has received a stable budget. Funds are allocated for the rearmament of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN).
