Russia has developed a promising multifunctional drone repeater called "Kasatka." The drone can act as a false target for air defense systems (ADS). Military expert Evgeny Damantsev spoke about the characteristics of the new product.
According to him, "Kasatka" is capable of operating at altitudes up to 2000 m. The drone is equipped with a command and telemetry control channel and a GLONASS/GPS correction radio navigation module.
In repeater mode, "Kasatka" patrols at altitudes from 1300 to 2000 m and provides transmission of command and telemetry control channels for FPV drones, secure digital voice communication channels, and tactical information exchange between motorized rifle units.
In false target mode, imitating Geranium kamikaze drones, "Kasatkas" operate at altitudes up to 300 m. Luneburg lenses on the body are necessary to simulate the effective scattering area (ESA) of Geranium drones.
At the same time, the devices used to transmit the signal should be designed in such a way as to exclude the possibility of determining the true purpose of the drone repeater using radio and electronic intelligence methods.
