In Russia, in the 80s and 90s, combat vehicles for transporting personnel were actively developed. Some models of infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers were adopted, but they did not go into mass production. Experts have named the top five underrated transporters.

Airborne self-propelled anti-tank gun (light amphibious tank) developed by the Design Bureau of the Volgograd Tractor Plant and OKB-9 (Yekaterinburg) under the leadership of TsNIITochMash. 2S25 Sprut-SD was produced at Kurganmashzavod from 1984 to 2010. More than 35 units were produced.

Heavy combat vehicle for flamethrower operators. This is an armored personnel carrier on a battle tank chassis without a turret. The BMO-T is compared to the Israeli Achzarit tracked transporter. Since 2001, about 10 units have been produced.

Combat wheeled amphibious armored vehicle for motorized rifle units. The pilot batch of BTR-90 was manufactured at the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant in 2007-2010.

SAO <b>Vena</b>

Self-propelled artillery and mortar installation (SAO) on the BMP-3 chassis. SAO Vena was developed at Motovilikhinskiye Zavody. It has been produced since 1995. It is in service with Russia and Azerbaijan.

GAZ-3937 Vodnik

A vehicle for transporting people and goods in difficult terrain. GAZ-3937 Vodnik was developed at GAZ OJSC. It is produced at the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant.
