In 2024, the fleet of Russian airlines was supplemented by only 2 new passenger aircraft. In September, an SSJ-100 was transferred to Lukoil-Avia, and in November, the same aircraft was received by the carrier Red Wings. They do not have import-substituted components.
Another 2 SSJ-100 aircraft are in the customization stage. One of the aircraft will be received by the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA), the other by a business jet customer.
In general, future deliveries of Superjets will only be related to the import-substituted version – SJ-100.
About the SJ-100 Aircraft
SJ-100 is a Russian narrow-body short-haul regional passenger aircraft. The first prototype of the SJ-100 (with the SaM146 engine) took off in August 2023. The aircraft has passed preliminary tests and has also made about 50 flights as part of certification tests.
The second prototype of the SJ-100 (with the PD-8 engine) underwent ground tests during 2024. Both aircraft will enter flight tests in the spring of 2025.
The first serial SJ-100s continue to be assembled in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. As components arrive from partner enterprises, factory workers install new systems and equipment.

About the MC-21-310 Aircraft
MC-21 is a Russian medium-range narrow-body passenger aircraft. In 2024, the Irkutsk Aviation Plant was conducting in-shop testing of new onboard systems on the first prototype MC-21-310 aircraft and assembling the second. It is expected that the first aircraft will take to the air in early 2025. The flight of the second will be organized later.
The plant is also working on the production of serial MC-21-310s. By the end of 2024, at least 10 aircraft had been docked. Given the complexity of the import substitution process, deliveries of the MC-21-310 to air carriers will begin no earlier than 2026.
