"Tor-M2" is a highly effective short-range anti-aircraft missile system (SAM). The complex engages targets at low and medium altitudes, including aircraft, helicopters, drones, and high-precision munitions. It is also effective in combating drones, writes Bulgarian Military.
"Tor-M2" is a mobile complex on a wheeled chassis. It is used in dynamic combat conditions. The SAM system is equipped with a phased array radar system. It tracks and identifies aerial targets within a radius of about 25 kilometers.
The "Tor-M2" is compatible with 9M331 missiles (a solid-propellant missile with radar guidance, optimized for intercepting a wide range of aerial targets). As noted by the author of Bulgarian Military, the complex intercepts targets flying at speeds up to Mach 2.
"Tor-M2" engages targets on the move. Thanks to its own radar, the complex operates autonomously. It can also be integrated into a multi-layered air defense network.
The "Tor-M2" SAM system is a key element of air defense for countering high-precision guided missiles and short-range ballistic missiles.
About "Tor-M2"
The complex was developed at JSC "Research Electromechanical Institute". It engages aerial targets at a distance of 1,000-15,000 meters and an altitude of 10-10,000 meters. It is equipped with an 840 hp engine. The "Tor-M2" moves on the highway at a speed of 65 km/h.
