Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems on the front lines need to be retrofitted with advanced 72V6MT transport and combat vehicles. They will solve the two main problems of domestic SAM systems in the fight against 122-mm RM-70 Vampire rockets and high-precision 227-mm HIMARS, said military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
The analyst attributed the first problem to the rapid depletion of ammunition, represented by two six-round transport and launch modules with 12 57E6/M anti-aircraft missiles on each combat vehicle.
He called the second problem the presence of only three target channels per 1RS2 radar guidance module on the Pantsir-S1.
The 72V6MT transport and combat module is not equipped with a massive RLM SOC circular обзор radar detector. The freed-up additional payload is used to retrofit two 12-round transport and launch modules with 24 57E6/M SAMs, which is equivalent to the arsenal of two Pantsir-S1 SAM systems.
At the same time, the 72V6MT retained the 1RS2-1/3 target tracking radar and the 10ES1 optoelectronic module, which receive target designation from the RLM SOC of the main Pantsir-S1 combat vehicle.
As a result, such an anti-aircraft missile tandem can receive eight target channels and a firing rate of up to 24 targets per minute.
The ammunition load reaches 36 57E6M anti-aircraft missiles, or 144 small-sized high-maneuverability 19Ya6 SAMs with a range of up to 10 km for intercepting rockets and UAVs. The latter option is the most economically feasible when repelling massive missile and artillery strikes by the enemy.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian fiber optic FPV drones turned out to be completely invulnerable to electronic warfare at the front lines. The new type of UAV does not require careful selection of position and is protected from video signal interception.
