The STAN holding company has improved the technology for manufacturing thin-walled profiles from aluminum and titanium, which can be used in the fuselage structures of passenger aircraft. The new method allows for the creation of complex curved parts with a minimal bending radius, and by 2027, the creation of a domestic CNC machine tool for their serial production is planned to be completed.

In the context of the active development of new Russian civil aircraft production, the UlNIAT development gains particular significance. The fully import-substituted MS-21-310 model has been launched into serial production, and the Irkutsk Aviation Plant is preparing to release the first batch of 18 units. At the same time, the production of Tu-214 is increasing in the country, and the SJ-100 continues to undergo certification tests in a fully domestic configuration.

The essence of the new technology lies in processing sheet blanks from which complex thin-walled profiles are formed. For aviation, this is important due to the combination of two requirements: the structure must maintain strength and service life with minimal mass. According to STAN, the application of the constrained bending method will reduce the fuselage mass and simultaneously increase its service life.

Currently, there are already foreign machines on the market for similar operations, but UlNIAT is developing an installation designed to work with domestic materials and automated manufacturing of large-sized profiles with different parameters.
