The Irkutsk Aviation Plant has received a confirmed contract for the supply of 18 MC-21-310 units to Aeroflot by the end of 2028. However, the assembly rate for one airliner is currently around 11–12 months, said Andrey Soynov, the general director of the enterprise.

According to him, the specific assembly time depends on customer demand.

Currently, this value is around 11–12 months. But with increasing demand, we will accelerate and increase the pace of the production line.
Andrey Soynov, General Director of IAZ

Soynov emphasized that the key task for the enterprise now is to ensure the rhythmic operation of the assembly line. This requires constant long-term contracts with airlines to avoid interruptions in work.

A few days ago, Soynov made a surprising admission that the proportion of managers and specialists at IAZ is higher than at a number of other enterprises in the industry, but the plant is already preparing for a shortage of production workers. He attributed the heavy workload of certain departments of the enterprise to bureaucracy.

As of September 2026, IAZ has assembled 10 MC-21-310 airframes. Another 4 aircraft will be transferred to the flight test station by the end of December.
