The United Aircraft Corporation is considering India as a platform for manufacturing components for the PD-8 engine and its subsequent localization. OAK head Vadim Badeha explained this scheme not only by the development of cooperation with Indian industry, but also by the need to avoid production limitations that could hinder the increase in aircraft production for Russian airlines.

According to Badeha, Indian enterprises could potentially join the manufacturing of PD-8 components and localize the production of the engine itself.
OAK is considering similar projects in the field of combat aviation. The model will allow distributing part of the production operations between Russian and Indian enterprises instead of increasing the entire volume exclusively within the Russian industrial circuit.
For OAK, this is especially important given the plans to increase the production of civilian aircraft. Badeha noted that expanding production in India of aircraft, aggregates, engines, and avionics can reduce the risk of "bottlenecks" – parts of the production chain that, with increasing volumes, become a limiting factor for the entire program.
Earlier, the corporation reported on preparations for licensed production of SJ-100 in India; Badeha expects to sign a firm contract with HAL by the end of 2026. In parallel, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan estimated India's potential demand for Russian helicopters at 5 thousand machines – this is five times more than the entire fleet of rotorcraft in Russia.
