Производство SJ-100 с ПД-8 буксует в России, но в Индии уже готовят сборочную линию

Certification of the aircraft's production abroad will take at least five years

HAL is preparing to launch the assembly of the now Russian-Indian SJ-100 aircraft, which will fill the niche of regional transportation in the country. Aviation expert and president of the consulting company MelonAero, Oleg Evdokimov, spoke about the difficulties that the project will face.

According to him, the Superjet is ideally suited for India in terms of size and purpose. The aircraft is neither too big nor too small, just fitting into the niche of routes between Indian cities.

Technological adaptation of the aircraft to Indian DGCA standards and localization of components will be the main challenges of the project. If HAL can adapt it to local conditions, it will be a real step towards its own regional aviation.

The aviation expert recalled that in Russia, the basic model of the SSJ-100 has been in operation since 2011, having flown hundreds of hours in civil, government, and rescue aviation in Russia.

In the context of Western export restrictions, the project will require serious preparation — from training specialists to certifying production. This will take from three to five years, but initial assembly may start earlier if some aircraft kits begin to be supplied from Russia.

It should be noted that the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec Group) will begin supplying import-substituted SJ-100s with PD-8 engines to Russian airlines only in 2026. At the same time, there is no information yet even about the timing of the completion of certification.

In addition, they wanted to build 142 units of the SSJ New by the end of 2030, but these plans will also be revised. Probably downwards.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Rostec commission with Serdyukov and UAC raided the production of the PD-8 engine.
