Minsk Tractor Works (OAO "MTZ") will implement a PLM system (Product Lifecycle Management – a software solution for managing all product creation processes from idea and design to production) into industrial operation by the end of 2026. The digital design methodology has already been tested on the BELARUS-3525 tractor model.

The task was to create one integrated chain from concept to production using unified licensed products.

PLM allows product development in a single environment, Ledvik emphasized. That is, the system manages data flows, including storing calculations, performing virtual tests, and issuing documentation for departments.

The effect of implementing the PLM system can be assessed by looking at the production cycle, explained Sergey Novikov, Project Manager of the Digital Transformation Department of Mechanical Engineering at Lanit company.

By implementing the system, we aim to achieve a cycle of 3-4 years to obtain a serial production model of equipment.

MTZ chose BELARUS-3525 as a test model for methodology development. According to Mikhail Ledvik, engineers developed the production technology and conducted virtual cabin tests. He noted that the results of all tests were later confirmed in practice.

The BELARUS-3522 served as the base model for the tractor. The agricultural machine received a Caterpillar C9.3B engine and a hydromechanical transmission. The tractor is designed for energy-intensive work in traction and traction-drive modes.
