MTZ transitions to creating "smart" agricultural machines: popular BELARUS tractor models will receive a precision farming system

Designer Zemtsov: The expected effect is a reduction in fuel and fertilizer consumption

Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) plans to expand the BELARUS tractor model range with an integrated precision farming system (which uses navigation and sensors to manage resources on every square meter of land). This was reported by the press service of the machine-building enterprise.

Igor Zemtsov, General Designer of MTZ, stated that the system uses satellite navigation and RTK correction with positioning accuracy up to 2.5 cm.

The expected effect is an increase in yield by 15–25%, a reduction in fuel, fertilizer, and seed consumption.

MTZ is transitioning from producing equipment to creating "smart" agricultural machines, the designer emphasized.

Among the advantages of the precision farming system are integration with tillage units and a user-friendly interface. The equipment is already being installed on high-performance tractors (with a power of 200–250 hp). In the future, the development will be implemented in all popular BELARUS models.
