At the Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ), the creation of a prototype of a new generation of agricultural machinery has been completed — the BELARUS-5425 tractor. The 542 horsepower machine claims the title of "super tractor" and is already undergoing field tests. After the completion of tests, designed for at least 1000 hours, mass production is scheduled to begin by 2027.
The project was a response to the order of the President of Belarus to create equipment that has no analogues in the world. During the design, engineers used advanced technologies, including pneumatic suspension of the cab — for the first time in the history of the enterprise. This solution significantly reduces vibration and noise, increasing operator comfort and reducing fatigue. For ease of operation, a side armrest is used, allowing you to perform all actions with one hand.
BELARUS-5425 is capable of operating continuously for up to ten hours without reducing power, which makes it in demand for large agricultural production and heavy field work. In addition to power and reliability, the tractor is distinguished by modern ergonomics and a high level of automation.
At the same time, innovative technologies are being introduced at the plant in the field of production. One of them is a 3D scanning system that allows you to restore the geometry of parts with high accuracy. The laser scanner creates a three-dimensional digital model with an accuracy of up to five millimeters — approximately the thickness of a human hair. This makes it possible to copy and produce complex components, the import of which was previously limited by sanctions.
Currently, specialists have mastered scanning about 15 typical products. The technology is used not only to restore worn parts, but also to modernize existing structures. As a result, production times are reduced and the cost of finished products is reduced.
