Kazan Aircraft Plant (KAZ) is ready to conclude contracts with international carriers for the supply of Tu-214 airliners. This was stated by the United Aircraft Corporation.
The aircraft model was exhibited at the Russia — ASEAN summit in Kazan. Delegations from India, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, Malaysia, Myanmar, East Timor, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Laos visited the stand.
KAZ representatives presented the fully import-substituted Tu-214 aircraft to potential foreign partners, thereby expressing readiness for international contracts for the supply of the machine.
KAZ currently faces problems with increasing the production rate of the Tu-214. Plant workers complained that the main hindrance was not machines or personnel, but exaggerated bureaucracy.
By the end of 2026, KAZ planned to build at least four new Tu-214s. However, to date, the plant has delivered only one airliner and another one is under assembly.
