The official work plan of the Kazan Aircraft Plant for 2026 provides for the production of four Tu-214 airliners at once. However, sources at the enterprise claim that the current production rates do not allow for the possibility of fulfilling them, according to the local publication "Business Online".
The first aircraft from the plan has already been delivered to the customer. The second aircraft is in a high degree of readiness, with several more machines at earlier stages of assembly.
However, only one aircraft is actually in final assembly. Therefore, a sharp increase in production within one year seems too optimistic a scenario.
They boldly promise, and most importantly, nothing will happen to them for it, but it's unrealistic to jump from one machine to four. First, you need to reach at least two, then three, because you need to work out the technologies, the procedure for resolving issues. Then something might happen.
According to KAZ employees, the main limitation remains not individual production operations, but the overall readiness of cooperation, the availability of components, and the need to increase qualified personnel.
Rostec noted that the Tu-214 needs to be "brought up to par" after design changes.
However, there is an opinion in the aviation industry that the aircraft has remained in the same state as it was 30 years ago, unlike its competitors Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.
