Kazan Aircraft Plant (KAZ) named after S. P. Gorbunov (a branch of PAO "Tupolev") will deliver 4 import-substituted Tu-214 aircraft in 2026, one of which has already been put into operation. This was stated by the head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov on the sidelines of the SPIEF.
According to him, the delivery of Tu-214s for Red Wings and S7 airlines is being discussed. Earlier, the S7 management expressed a desire to sign a contract for the purchase of about 100 Tu-214s.
In total, we have contracted 11 aircraft for commercial operators.
Alikhanov noted that the aircraft plant has already established serial production of aircraft. Production capacities are currently being increased. In parallel, the program for the supply of special versions of the Tu-214 is being implemented. And this is "a priority task", the minister emphasized.
The developers of the import-substituted Tu-214 received approval for the main change in the type design in December 2025. The aircraft, in which foreign-made equipment and components were replaced with Russian ones, passed certification tests.
