Russia will certainly return to supersonic aircraft. They will become relevant because time remains a key value, said the head of Rosaviatsia, Dmitry Yadrov.
According to him, the development of such airliners is a multifaceted issue, where all aspects of efficiency and safety must be taken into account.
Of course, they will return, because everyone is chasing speed, we want to move faster. And aviation will definitely come to this.
Yadrov recalled the development of supersonic aircraft in the USSR, in particular the world's first Tu-144, which "appeared too early for its time".
The new Russian supersonic passenger aircraft was defined in its final configuration without traditional frontal glazing. This layout was sharply criticized by the honored Soviet pilot Oleg Smirnov.
