Kazakhstan has proposed using the new Russian Soyuz-5 rocket for manned space launches in the future. This was announced by Konstantin Busygin, head of the Baikonur administration.
According to him, the idea is being discussed within the framework of the joint Russian-Kazakhstani Baiterek program, but practical implementation is still a long way off.
Kazakhstanis proposed the idea that in the future, the Soyuz-5 rocket could be used for crewed space launches.
The Baiterek project has been implemented at Baikonur since 2004. It involves the creation of a new space rocket complex for modern launch vehicles. Currently, Soyuz-5 is considered a rocket for commercial and government satellite launches.
The launch vehicle belongs to the medium class and is capable of delivering up to 17 tons of payload into orbit. One of the key features of the rocket is its high launch accuracy.
