Technology of the future in the field: engineers at KIPU have created the latest robotic tracked platform

The device can perform several operations in a single pass and is equipped with quick-change modules

Inventors from the Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical University (KIPU) have patented a utility model — a self-propelled robotic tracked platform for agriculture. The machine is capable of performing several technological operations in a single pass, which increases its multifunctionality and reliability.

The platform consists of a load-bearing frame on a tracked chassis, a control unit, a power supply unit, DC electric motors with reduction gearing connected to the tracks, controllers, obstacle sensors, video cameras, and a GPS tracker. The interchangeable cargo platform is made in the form of two parallel guides with longitudinal T-slots and round cutouts, along which I-beam-shaped runners move. The interchangeable agricultural module is secured by a locking mechanism with spring-loaded hemispherical fasteners.

At the front and rear, additional equipment is mounted on the frame — three-point linkage systems with hydraulic cylinders. The lower and upper links are connected by an A-shaped coupling device that provides automatic coupling with interchangeable modules. Inside the platform, a hydraulic cylinder control system is installed, consisting of a hydraulic power unit and hydraulic distributors.

The technical result is the creation of a multifunctional and reliable robotic platform capable of performing several operations in a single pass.
