Development of a 300 MW turbine has begun in Russia

The Ministry of Industry and Trade did not disclose the production time frame for the new equipment

Russia is working on the production of the latest gas turbine with a capacity of 300 MW. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Mikhail Ivanov at the Kazan EnergoProm forum.

According to him, domestic factories are also creating eight new gas turbines of various capacities. We are talking about a series of units up to 25 MW and further development of the line to 110 MW.

Only five countries in the world are capable of producing such high-tech energy equipment. There are even fewer of those who work in such conditions as we do, when we build the maximum depth of localization for ourselves due to the lack of the possibility of cooperation with leading countries.

It should be noted that at the moment there is no gas turbine with a capacity of 300 MW in Russia. The GTE-300 project is being handled by the company "Power Machines", there are no approximate implementation dates.

The publication "Business Online" noted that at the forum, Ivanov did not talk about the unproven nature of the technologies, the high price against the background of foreign competitors and the delivery times of domestic turbines.
