ZALA Z-16 Reconnaissance Drones Upgraded: Efficiency Increased Significantly

Drones received an onboard machine vision system

The company ZALA has improved the combat capabilities of Z-16 reconnaissance drones by integrating artificial intelligence directly on board. The drone became the first in the line of aerial reconnaissance aircraft with a hardware and software complex based on machine vision algorithms.

Video stream and thermal imaging data processing now takes place in real time directly on board, without the constant participation of the operator, ZALA emphasized.

The onboard electronics independently analyze the image, detect objects, including disguised equipment, and mark the identified targets. The processed information is transmitted to the ground station, which significantly reduces decision-making time.

The onboard video camera protects the ZALA Z-16 from FPV interceptors. When enemy drones are detected, the system automatically commands the reconnaissance drone to perform evasive maneuvers. At the same time, the Z-16 returns to base even with the engine turned off.
