The documents stated that the PD-8 engine should receive a type certificate in May. However, the final deadlines depend on the test results and comments from the certifying authority.

Just two weeks ago, on March 20, Rosaviatsiya announced plans to certify the import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft in July 2026. The Ministry of Transport noted that the PD-8 engine would also receive a type document in April. Consequently, the deadlines have already "shifted to the right."

In December 2025, a source from Business Online in the aviation industry stated that the PD-8 did not produce the necessary thrust for flights with a full cabin.
