Rosaviatsiya has announced the certification dates for new Russian aircraft. The fully import-substituted SJ-100 airliner will receive its certificate in July 2026.
The timelines for other models have also become known. The regional Il-114-300 will undergo testing in May 2026. The medium-range MC-21 with Russian systems is scheduled to complete testing in October 2026.
Currently, all three aircraft are in Arkhangelsk undergoing the next stage of certification testing.
To obtain permission to operate passenger flights, it is necessary to conduct flight tests in icing conditions and verify that the aircraft retains its flight characteristics, stability, and controllability.
Today, the SJ-100 successfully landed in Naryan-Mar. The crew commander, Hero of Russia and Honored Test Pilot Leonid Viktorovich Chikunov, shared how one of the most rigorous stages of the machine's certification is progressing.
