New windshields developed for the import-substituted version of the SSJ New aircraft will be installed on Superjet-100 aircraft with SaM-146 engines. This was announced by Vladimir Donchenko, Director of Customer Relations at PJSC Yakovlev.
According to him, the operators of the first Superjets are well aware of the problems with the liner's windshields, so it was decided to replace them. However, such a rearrangement will require the main thing - approval from Rosaviatsiya.
The windshields from the SSJ New will appear in operation on the old Superjet within the next month after certification tests. Another important issue is that we need to complete the work with Rosaviatsiya on the certification of this change.
As a reminder, carriers previously regularly recorded cases of cracks appearing on the outer heated layer of the SSJ-100 windshield during flight or landing. This did not lead to depressurization, but required unscheduled maintenance and replacement of expensive parts.
Earlier, "The First Technical" reported that NPP Tekhnologiya had begun mass production of import-substituted components for SJ-100 aircraft - cockpit glazing and external lighting equipment protection.
The domestic glazing is equipped with heating and has passed all ground checks, including bird strike resistance.
