The Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of PJSC "Tupolev") will start mass production of Tu-214 aircraft only in a few years. This forecast was given by the head of flight safety and certification service RunAvia.ru, aviation expert Andrey Patrakov.

According to him, it all depends on the rate of component production. Despite the first flight of the Tu-214 in an import-substituted form in December 2025, making a prototype and launching mass production are different things.

I think, in the best case, we can count on such rates in 2030–2035.

United Aircraft Corporation and State Transport Leasing Company S7 Group signed a memorandum on the supply of 100 Tu-214 aircraft, starting in 2029.

Aviation expert Andrey Velichko stated to "Perviy Technicheskiy" that the Kazan Aviation Plant is capable of building a Tu-214 with a two-member cockpit within three years, if there are no external delays.
