The Kazan Aviation Plant named after S. P. Gorbunov (KAZ, part of Rostec) will reconstruct the final assembly shop for Tu-214 aircraft. The project will be implemented within the framework of the federal target program.
The main object of reconstruction will be the AUP No. 1 pumping station. During the work, modern metal structures with fire protection coating will be installed in it, roofing and concrete floors will be arranged.
Also, engineering and lifting equipment will be installed there, engineering networks will be laid and the territory will be landscaped. All work will be completed by June 2027, and the project funding will amount to 360 million rubles.
Last week, on February 4, 2026, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), S7 Group and GTLK signed a memorandum of understanding on the supply of 100 Tu-214s, starting in 2029.
In mid-December 2025, KAZ raised the first new Tu-214 into the sky. By 2030, KAZ should build 115 such machines.
