The Research and Technological Institute "Progress", a part of the "RT-Capital" company of Rostec, has introduced an innovative automated welding complex to the market. The operator only needs to load the parts into the working area and press the button — the rest of the equipment will do it automatically. Previously, similar solutions were only produced abroad.
The main feature of the new complex is its ability to automatically find the joint of parts and control the movement of the welding beam. Using an electron beam gun, the system scans the elements to be joined with a small probe current, determines the correct trajectory, and performs welding using the welding current.
The new equipment virtually eliminates the possibility of errors that are inevitably made by humans, and significantly increases productivity.
According to Nazarov, the first such complex is already with the customer, where it is being prepared for operation. He added that the system's operability was verified during testing.
