Roscosmos Holding "RKS" Created Over 1000 Developments in Three Years - 200 Inventions and 650 Software Products

"Russian Space Systems" Presented the Results of the First Years of the Decade of Science at the "Archimedes-2026" Exhibition

The holding "Russian Space Systems" (RKS, part of Roscosmos) has created more than 1000 developments in the first years of the Decade of Science and Technology 2022–2031. This was announced by the head of the patent and licensing service of RKS, Vasily Sarantsev, at the Moscow International Salon of Inventions "Archimedes-2026". The holding owns the rights to 900 results of intellectual activity: the exclusive right to 200 inventions and 650 software products, databases, utility models, topologies of integrated microcircuits and other applied developments. All technical and technological samples undergo expert verification for compliance with the criteria of technical level and novelty.

What Lies Behind the Number: Areas of Work of RKS

The holding's companies operate in all priority areas of scientific and technological development of the rocket and space industry: applied and fundamental science, educational space projects, research and development work. The developments combine the technological potential of the holding's companies, modern digital design technologies and the legacy of the Soviet design school, Sarantsev noted.

RKS Intellectual Property Portfolio

  • Total developments created since 2022: more than 1,000
  • Rights to the results of intellectual activity: 900
  • Of these, inventions (exclusive right): 200
  • Software products, databases, utility models, IC topologies: 650
  • Period: the first years of the Decade of Science and Technology 2022–2031
  • Holding: RKS, part of Roscosmos

A thousand developments in three years — an average of more than 330 per year. For comparison: the entire Soviet backlog of RKS, accumulated over decades, constitutes the base on which new patents are now being built. The ratio of 200 inventions to 650 software products reflects the general trend of the space industry: digital technologies — modeling, management, data processing — are becoming the main field of innovative activity on par with hardware developments.
