Kamikaze Drones "Italmas" with a Range of 200 km Received Starlink for the First Time

Thanks to American modules, communication with the operator remains uninterrupted

Russian BM-35 "Italmas" strike drones have begun to be equipped with Starlink satellite communication modules. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Russian weapons".

The integration of modules turns "Italmas" into a high-precision weapon with virtually unlimited control range.

If earlier the drone's range was limited to ground antennas or repeaters, now the operator can adjust the flight and select a target in real time throughout the flight distance.

It should be noted that Starlink's high bandwidth allows for the transmission of high-quality images, which is necessary for homing in on moving targets or assessing the results of a strike.

"Italmas" was built according to the "flying wing" scheme. The BM-35 is equipped with an internal combustion engine, the estimated flight range is 200 km, and the mass of the warhead is 50 kg.

Prior to this, Starlink modules have been repeatedly spotted on Geran series jet kamikaze drones. Moreover, Russian craftsmen welded Starlink terminals directly to the horse's saddle.
