Swedish carmaker Volvo filed applications in December 2025 to register three trademarks. This is confirmed by materials from the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent).
What Volvo Trademark Holding AB is registering:
- logo
- Volvo name
- Volvo Penta name
If the applications are approved, the company plans to sell cars of various classes, boats and yachts, spare parts in the Russian market, as well as provide repair and maintenance services.
As a reminder, in 2022, Volvo Trucks suspended the sale and production of cars in the Russian Federation. A year later, it became known about the sale of the company's Russian assets to a private investor without the possibility of repurchase.
In 2025, many companies that left Russia applied to Rospatent to register their trademarks. In this way, car concerns want to return to the market, which brought them large profits.
