Domestic military equipment not only surpasses Western models in terms of maintainability, versatility and a number of technical characteristics, but is also much cheaper. This comparison was made by journalist Andrei Kots.
He drew attention to the information that the German army will purchase 123 Leopard 2A8 tanks. Kots cited the cost of one unit of combat vehicle — 30 million euros.
This is much more expensive than any other tank and even, for example, the Su-35S fighter. At the same time, the "golden" main battle tank remains vulnerable to drones costing a couple of thousand dollars.
Note that the Su-35S fighter does not actually have a fixed price, as it depends on the exchange rate at the time of the transaction, the configuration of the combat aircraft and the terms of a specific export contract. The cost of the aircraft was estimated at 30-38 million euros.
Comparing the Leopard 2A8 with the Russian T-90MS "Proryv" tank, it can be noted that the latter was estimated at approximately 5 million euros. Again, we are talking about the export value, which depends on a number of factors.
The commander of the repair and recovery battalion with the call sign Pero noted that the Leopard is inferior to Russian vehicles due to too much electronics inside.
