According to him, the relevant negotiations are under discussion and fit into the overall context of deepening military-technical cooperation between the two countries.

The initiative received an additional impetus after Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to New Delhi, where he confirmed Moscow's readiness to participate in the modernization of the Indian armed forces.

In particular, it concerned the supply and joint development of air defense systems, aviation equipment and naval weapons.

Local production of Lancet strike UAVs could be a new stage in the partnership aimed at increasing India's technological independence and expanding Russia's presence in the Indian defense market.
