The Meshchansky Court of Moscow will consider a criminal case of large-scale fraud in the VSMPO-Avisma Corporation, the main Russian manufacturer of titanium for PD-8 and PD-14 aircraft engines. The total damage amounted to 319 million rubles.
The investigation suspects former managers of PJSC "Corporation VSMPO-Avisma" Svyatoslav Kolmogortsev and Makros-M LLC Maxim Polyushkin of fraud.
Law enforcement officers found that the head of the material and technical supply department of the VSMPO-Avisma branch in Berezniki, Kolmogortsev, received a bribe from Polyushkin in the amount of more than 10 million rubles.
The company "Makros-M" purchased liquid chlorine from manufacturers at a price that included delivery to Avisma's facilities and resold it at a higher price.
The damage caused to the victim "Avisma" by the artificial overpricing amounted to 319.1 million rubles. Both defendants pleaded not guilty.
VSMPO-Avisma is the largest titanium producer with a complete technological cycle: from raw material processing to the production of finished products with a high degree of machining. Titanium is used in the aviation industry in the production of the tail section, wing, chassis, and fuselage of an aircraft.
