ICL Techno, based in Tatarstan and known under the OSiO brand, has announced the start of sales of laptops with the pre-installed Russian operating system Uncom OS. The first devices to receive this system were models from the FocusLine series, followed by the BaseLine series.
The cost of OSiO models with pre-installed Uncom OS will be lower than similar configurations with Windows, making them more accessible to the mass user.
Uncom OS offers technological maturity, ease of use, a high level of technical support, as well as file synchronization through the UNC Connect service, provided as a gift to OSiO laptop owners.
The Russian operating system is optimized for energy saving and hard disk space saving, which is especially important for mass-market laptops.
According to the developers, since its appearance in 2022, the system has received its own repository, adapted versions of "Р7-Офис" and "Яндекс Browser", which increases independence from foreign distributions.
It is noted that all the main modules of Uncom OS are open for security checks. The system protects users of all ages from downloading malicious applications from the software store.
