Russian aircraft engines PD-8 and PD-14 are capable of operating for at least 25-30 years. This was stated by Alexander Grachev, General Director of the United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of the Rostec State Corporation).
According to him, UEC remains competitive in the global market. To maintain these positions, it is necessary to introduce new solutions into production.
Together with the students of the "Wings of Rostec" project, the corporation intends to create and develop those products and business areas that are necessary and effective today from the point of view of technological development and economic impact.
The life cycle of an aircraft engine is at least 25-30 years. Today's students are the engineers and designers who will ensure the airworthiness of PD-14, PD-8, VK-650V engines and introduce the latest technologies for the further development of the domestic engine building industry.
The production of PD-8 engine components will be expanded to 200 sets per year. The Perm Machine-Building Plant is already completing an investment project to expand the production of components for a promising unit.
