Rosaviatsiya announced the progress of work on the certification of new domestic regional aircraft "Baikal" and "Osvey". At a meeting of the headquarters for the certification of aviation equipment within the framework of the special project "Civil Aviation", representatives of the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) confirmed the submission of an application for obtaining a type certificate for the "Baikal" aircraft.
The company's specialists continue to form the certification basis of the aircraft, taking into account the import substitution of the power plant. Certification of the VK-800 engine and AV-901 propeller is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. The first flight of the "Baikal" prototype with a new power plant is expected by the end of 2025, and obtaining a type certificate is expected in 2026.
The mock-up commission for the "Osvey" aircraft project has been completed. UZGA has eliminated the comments and taken into account the recommendations of specialists, preparing reporting documentation for submission to Rosaviatsiya and the Aviation Register of Russia. Certification of the aircraft is scheduled for 2029.
It is planned to produce 139 "Baikal" aircraft, 158 "Osvey" aircraft and 105 TVRS-44 "Ladoga" aircraft by 2030.
