Deep-sea divers of the Pacific Fleet successfully practiced a set of rescue operations at a depth of up to 60 meters during exercises in Aniva Bay off the coast of the Sakhalin Region. This is reported by the press service of the fleet.
As part of the training, the crew of the rescue vessel "Igor Belousov" performed practical descents and practiced maneuvers on a full-scale model of the Epron compartment, simulating an emergency situation on a submarine. Specialists practiced connecting hoses for supplying high-pressure air, purging the main ballast tanks and ventilating the compartments of a conditionally damaged submarine.
The program included classes in underwater welding and metal cutting, as well as work with a high-pressure underwater pipeline. The ship's crew provided divers with air and lighting to the seabed using underwater spotlights.
Helmet-mounted video cameras and a remotely operated underwater vehicle were used to monitor the progress of work. All dives were supervised by a special physiologist doctor, and safe ascent and decompression were provided by the GVK-450 diving complex installed on board the "Igor Belousov".
«Игорь Белоусов» is the Russian lead rescue vessel of the ocean class of Project 21300 «Дельфин» for the Russian Navy. It belongs to the ships of the 1st rank.
Earlier www1.ru reported that The Pacific Fleet, with the participation of the An-26 aircraft and the rescue vessel «Фотий Крылов», conducted exercises to search for and evacuate a spacecraft.
