The fully Russian composite wing for the MC-21-310 airliner has performed excellently during testing, with no problems found. This was stated by the aircraft's chief designer, Vitaly Naryshkin.
He recalled that the MC-21 became the first domestic aircraft to have a wing completely made of Russian composite materials installed on it.
The first flight [of the wing] was in 2021. It is performing excellently. Before that, it underwent a full range of tests both in flight and on test benches. We have no problems with this wing.
Naryshkin added that almost all systems, including the most important ones for the aircraft, were replaced on the second experimental MC-21.
The control system now uses exclusively domestic actuators, all mechanisms, stabilizer adjustment mechanisms, as well as controls in the cockpit. This system has performed excellently both in ground tests during the preparation of the aircraft for flight and in flight. Everything works, there are no comments from the flight crew, it has met all expectations.
A one-piece wing made of lightweight and ultra-strong composite materials is produced at the "Aerocomposit-Ulyanovsk" plant.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a Rostec commission with Serdyukov and UAC visited the production of the PD-8 engine.
