The second fully Russian MC-21 aircraft is being prepared for its first flight in Irkutsk. This aircraft, like the first, was largely created thanks to the enterprises of the Ulyanovsk region, which became a key center for the production of the "aircraft of the future."
The contribution of Ulyanovsk enterprises to the creation of the aircraft is enormous. Here are just the key components that are produced in the region:
The famous "black wing"
The one-piece wing made of lightweight and ultra-strong composite materials is produced at the "AeroComposit-Ulyanovsk" plant.
"Brains" and "nervous system"
All avionics - the complex electronics that control all aircraft systems - were developed at the Ulyanovsk Design Bureau of Instrumentation (UKBP). They also make lighting for the cockpit and cabin.
Important details
Titanium parts for the aircraft are supplied by the Ulyanovsk Foundry and Mechanical Plant.
Interior and comfort
Elements of the passenger cabin are manufactured by the company "Aviation Interiors". In the near future, Ulyanovsk plans to establish the production of panels for the floor and luggage compartments
Earlier www1.ru reported that "Yakovlev" launched a unique stand for docking the SJ-100 wing with the main body of the aircraft
