The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of the Rostec Group) announced the flight of the second import-substituted MC-21 aircraft. New domestic systems and PD-14 engines were tested on board.
The MC-21 took to the sky from the airfield of the Yakovlev company's Irkutsk Aviation Plant. The aircraft will join the certification test program in addition to the prototype MC-21.
Rostec listed the systems that were tested on the liner. We are talking about controls in the cockpit, control system drives, a wing mechanization movement system and a stabilizer adjustment mechanism, an integrated avionics complex and an integrated air conditioning system.
Engineers also checked the operation of the integrated system for collecting, monitoring, processing and recording flight information, the wheel braking system, the main and auxiliary power plants, and the fuel system.
It should be noted that the state corporation did not name the systems that the head of Rosaviatsia Dmitry Yadrov described as "not yet replaced". We are talking about an icing system, a water-vacuum system, a collision avoidance system, a weather radar and a power supply system.
Apparently, a clear understanding of the timing of the start of production of the MC-21 will appear only after the completion of these works.
