Five systems to full sovereignty: what they didn't manage to replace in the MC-21

The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of the Rostec Group) announced the flight of the second import-substituted MC-21 aircraft. New domestic systems and PD-14 engines were tested on board.

The MC-21 took to the sky from the airfield of the Yakovlev company's Irkutsk Aviation Plant. The aircraft will join the certification test program in addition to the prototype MC-21.

Rostec listed the systems that were tested on the liner. These include controls in the cockpit, control system actuators, wing mechanization movement system and stabilizer adjustment mechanism, airborne radio electronic equipment complex and integrated air conditioning system.

Engineers also checked the operation of the integrated system for collecting, monitoring, processing and recording flight information, the wheel braking system, the main and auxiliary power plants, and the fuel system.

It should be noted that the state corporation did not name the systems that the head of Rosaviatsia Dmitry Yadrov identified as"not yet replaced". We are talking about the de-icing system, the water-vacuum system, the collision avoidance system, the weather radar and the power supply system.

Apparently, a clear understanding of the timing of the start of production of the MC-21 will appear only after the completion of these works.
