The NPM2M industrial electric locomotive (developed at the Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant (NEVZ) has been assigned the status of "Made in Russia".
Since the beginning of October 2024, NEVZ has delivered 216 units of railway equipment to customers, including models 2(3,4)ES5K, EP1M, EMKA2 and NP1.
"Made in Russia" is a status confirming that the products are manufactured in the Russian Federation. The certificate is not mandatory. However, the absence of confirmed origin of goods may limit access to tenders and government orders, and make it difficult to enter export markets.
The NPM2M electric locomotive is designed for operation on railway tracks of metallurgical enterprises and quarries. This locomotive No. 30 will be sent to work at PJSC "Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works", which emphasizes its importance for large industrial operations.
Technical characteristics of the NPM2M electric locomotive:
- Coupling weight — 92+2 t.
- Power in hourly mode — not less than 1400 kW.
- Design speed — 60 km/h.
- Operating temperature range — from -50 °С to +60 °С.
- Body width — no more than 3 150 mm.
