Power supply to meet the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant's (ZNPP) own needs has been restored after a 30-day complete loss of external power. The ZNPP press service reported this on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
The "Dniprovska" high-voltage power line has been put back into operation after repairs. Restoration work continues on the second 330 kV "Ferrosplavnaya-1" line. Previously, power was supplied by backup diesel generators, and station personnel monitored fuel reserves to maintain the safety of the facilities.
The operation to restore external power supply was carried out with the participation of IAEA specialists, as well as with the support of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Rosgvardia, which ensured the safe conduct of work on the line.
We thank the technical specialists and personnel of the ZNPP for their participation in the restoration of power supply
On September 23, the "Dniprovska" high-voltage line was disconnected as a result of strikes. The backup "Ferrosplavnaya-1" line was decommissioned on May 7. IAEA observers have been working at the station since September 1, 2022.
