The Arbitration Court of the Ural District upheld the rejection of the claim of the Special Flight Detachment (SLO) "Russia" against the Ufa enterprise "Hydraulics". The reason for the dispute was the breakage of one working compressor blade and damage to the internal part of the gas generator of the auxiliary power unit (APU) of the Tu-214 aircraft.
SLO "Russia" demanded that "Hydraulics" repair the unit at its own expense. The Tu-214 aircraft, manufactured by PJSC "Tupolev" and transferred to the detachment by the company "Rostec", is equipped with an auxiliary gas turbine engine developed by NPP "Aerosila".
In July 2021, "Hydraulics" repaired the unit and gave a guarantee for nine months. In December of the same year, the APU was removed due to a malfunction - after receiving a signal about icing and subsequent anti-icing treatment, the system recorded an error, and the engine stopped automatically.
During the inspection, specialists found a break in one working compressor blade and damage to the internal part of the gas generator. After that, SLO "Russia" sent a request to eliminate the malfunction under warranty, but the Ufa plant refused, citing the operational nature of the defect. The company offered to carry out repairs at the customer's expense, which the detachment did not agree with and filed a lawsuit.
In court, "Hydraulics" stated that the destruction occurred due to ice entering the compressor during anti-icing measures. In addition, the plant recalled that the disputed unit had already been damaged, and a similar defect was recognized as operational and eliminated at the expense of PJSC "Tupolev" (part of the United Aircraft Corporation).
"Tupolev" was involved in the case as a co-defendant, as well as NPP "Aerosila" and the insurance company "SOGAZ" as third parties. A forensic examination established that the destruction of the blades was caused by external impact and was not related to manufacturing defects.
Earlier www1.ru reported that assembly of the first ventral fin section of the MS-21-310 aircraft began at the Sokol aircraft plant.
