Domestic Superjet 100 aircraft with Russian-French SaM146 engines will be able to continue flying until 2028-2029. This was stated by the head of Rosaviatsiya, Dmitry Yadrov.
According to him, the agency has decided to extend the service life of the SaM146 engine.
This event, in conjunction with the "United Engine Corporation" (UEC), will allow these aircraft to be operated until 2028-2029 and will prevent the suspension of this fleet.
In total, there are currently about 160 Superjet aircraft flying in Russia 100 with foreign components. Serial production of the aircraft was discontinued in 2022 after the introduction of sanctions restrictions.
In 2026, deliveries of a new import-substituted version of the SJ-100 with Russian PD-8 power plants are expected to begin.
Earlier www1.ru reported that assembly of the first under-keel section of the MS-21-310 aircraft began at the Sokol aircraft plant.
