"Preventing a situation like the 90s": Russian aircraft industry defines development goal

UAC firmly decided to produce competitive aircraft

The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) has defined the goal of developing the industry in Russia — to produce competitive aircraft. This was announced by Vadim Badeha, head of UAC, at a meeting of the expert council of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade.

According to him, today civil aviation is at the stage of large-scale development.

The task of UAC, together with the entire Rostec cooperation, is to prevent a repeat of the situation of the 90s, when a huge network of civilian suppliers was destroyed. We set ourselves the goal of producing competitive aircraft.

Badeha noted that the work was organized in three areas — optimizing pricing, supporting operation, and flight performance characteristics comparable to analogues.

Following the meeting, participants concluded that the successful implementation of the national project is possible only with close cooperation between industry, financial institutions, and the scientific community.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the assembly of the first ventral fin bay of the MS-21-310 aircraft began at the Sokol aircraft plant.
